Prices for Instruction & Guiding



Cost includes instruction and technical equipment required  for the chosen activity. 


Prices vary based on the season (summer or winter) and the number of people participating. 


Summer Rock

1:1 £250 per day

1:2 £300 per day

3 people or more £350 per day 


For navigation, grade I scrambling and hill walking please get in contact, larger groups will result in lower individual costs. 


Winter Climbing

1:1 £300 per day

1:2 £350 per day


For winter skills, navigation and mountaineering please get in contact. Maximum ratio for winter courses is 1:4


For courses of 5 days or more 10% discount is applied to the total.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW – TERMS & CONDITIONS

 


BOOKING


A deposit of 50% will be required to guarantee your booking with the final balance being due within 4 weeks of course start date.


Booking forms should be filled out online.


PAYMENT


Your course fee can be paid by cheque payable to KM James, or by Bank Transfer (details on request).


CANCELLATION


If you cancel 4 weeks or more before the course starts then any course fees over and above the deposit will be refunded. If you cancel less than 4 weeks but more than 2 weeks before the course starts then you will be refunded 25% of the total course fee. If you cancel less than 2 weeks before the course starts then there is no refund. Mountain Expertise will make every attempt to run a course. However, if, due to circumstances outside our control like dangerous and/or unsuitable weather conditions, loss or theft of transport or incapacitating injury, we have to cancel a course we will refund all fees paid or find another suitable date.


PARTICIPATION STATEMENT


It is impossible to eliminate all risk, however through experience and following best practise and national guidelines we do our utmost to ensure your safety.

It must however be understood that participating in outdoor activities involves some risk of injury. Instructors will take all reasonable care to reduce this risk. As a participant you are required to observe the safety instructions given to you during the course.  


LIABILITY


Mountain Expertise and instructors are not under any liability whatsoever in respect of loss or damage to personal property, not caused by the negligence or fault of Mountain Expertise or associates while attending the course.


INSURANCE


Mountain Expertise has full public liability insurance but we advise that you take out your own personal accident and cancellation cover. Below are a couple of adventure sport insurance specialists.

ASSURANCE

Mountain Expertise is run by qualified and experienced outdoor pursuits coaches and instructors. All instructors and coaches that we use hold relevant National Governing Body awards, experience and insurance for all activities offered.  


EQUIPMENT

Equipment that you hire or use for your course is your responsibility, you may be asked to replace an item if you damage or loose it due to neglect.

  

MEDICAL CONDITIONS  

Mountain Expertise should be informed of any relevant medical conditions or injuries of ALL participants this is to help us keep you safe on the activities.  


PRIVACY POLICY

You have certain legal rights to control what we do with your information. This includes the right to get access to the personal information we hold about you, request us to correct or update incorrect information, to object to or request that we restrict processing your information in certain circumstances and to object to direct marketing. To change your marketing prefrences you can email us directly info@mountain-expertise.co.uk.


Why we need the information about you?

At the point of booking we request that you fill in a participant consent/booking form. All of the information we collect from this form is relevant to the processing of your booking and enables us to communicate with you regarding your booking. We also need to make sure your instructor has relevant informaton to help with making safe decisions when out with you.


Who is it shared with?

We only share the information on your consent form with the instructors that you will be having your adventure with, so they can make contact at the start of the day and are able to make good decisions to keep you safe.


What about marketing and social media?

We may use your name and email address in the future to contact you for marketing purposes - new courses or opportunites we think you might be interested in.

We also ask your consent to use photos of you out with us on our social media and for marketing. If you wish to withdraw this consent you can do so by contacting us at info@mountain-expertise.co.uk


How long do we keep information for?

Information from the consent form will be retained for 1 year unless there has been a notable incident. If there has been a notable incident then your information will be retained until the case is closed or 3 years for an adult (information about a child will be retained until they reach the age of 21.) After this time period we will permanently delete any records we have for you.

If you have consented to us using your photos on social media and for marketing they will be used until we no longer need them or you request we stop using them.

- Accommodation - 

The ideal locations for courses in Snowdonia are Llanberis, Betws y Coed, Capel Curig or Bethesda. Accomodation options are available for all budgets in this area - camping, bunkhouses & hostels, B&B's and hotels. If you would like some recommendations please ask when you book.
